Tanga Cay

Tanga Cay is a 503 acre master planned resort community located on the Indian Ocean in Tanzania, Africa. It is the largest resort of its kind on the coast in Tanzania in response to high tourism demand in this emerging market. Agora Planning + Design prepared the overall master plan and detailed conceptual site plans for the entire property. The resort includes, four hotels, man-made islands, a town center, three marinas, golf course, theme park, wild animal park, water park, equestrian community, community farm to table gardens and nature interpretive parks.

Punta Algodones

Punta Algodones is a 110 acre resort located on the Sea of Cortez in San Carlos, Mexico. Once a thriving Club Med resort in the 1970’s and 1980’s, this site has been vacant for many years. Agora Planning + Design prepared the overall resort master plan which includes the addition of a marina, condos, single family detached residential, community center and hotels, restaurants and a kite boarding club on the white sandy Algodones beach. Site drainage is incorporated with the trail system and open space amenities to filter run-off before entering the marina and sea. Market demand is anticipated to be for Mexican nationals as well as U.S. and Canadian citizens.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort 

A master plan as well as the sales center and clubhouse facility architectural design for Disney’s vacation Ownership community in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The site plan represents the successful integration of sensitive wetland areas and an existing championship golf course. The Key West architectural theme was selected to reflect the cultural and historical character of South Florida.

The Island at Lake Las Vegas

This 60-acre island is a mixed-use project planned for the north shore of Lake Las Vegas. This old world urban design concept includes tree-lined streets, richly designed bridges at the entryways, carefully placed plazas and courtyards, an interior canal that becomes an open space amenity, and pedestrian promenades terminating at dramatic focal points and public spaces. Gondolas and water taxis provide access through the canals as well as to and from other parts of the lake resort.
